Black Salt Lenormand
Well, how stunning is this dark horse of a deck?
Tiny but mighty, this deck has the ability to draw you in! The flash on each card varies depending on the light you are working in. It’s like a little bit of magic before you even start reading with the cards. When the cards attract your attention like this deck does, it makes reading with them such a treat.
The imagery and art in this deck has a modern feel, and for me, this makes this deck even more special. It brings another way of understanding and relating to these cards and to the lenormand reading system ( eg. the illustration of the old school ‘Snake’ video game for the Snake card or the Gameboy visual for ‘Child’, or the Tamagotchi for ‘Burden’, or the strawberry with cream/chocolate for ‘Whip’ or the renaming of ‘Rider’ to ‘Skater’ (with a rollerskate visual)). You get the feeling that this deck is going to test your modern day knowledge/recognition skills, and if there are gaps, you better believe you’re going to be able to fill the gap in such a fun way with this deck.
The included booklet isn’t detailed (key words only which makes sense for a lenormand deck), but even for a beginner, it would give you enough to get started. This deck is also mini sized, so its great for travel, and compliments other readings well. Using it with other ‘black’ themed cards (including deck sisters ‘Black Salt Tarot’ and ‘Black Salt Oracle’) would be awesome! I personally LOVE using these decks together. If you gotta ‘collect ‘em all’, I couldn’t think of a better set of decks to add to your collection!
