The Star String Tarot (2nd edition)

NZ$112.00

I love a colourful deck, but I have a special place in my heart for a great black and white deck. Without the extra layer of colour, the meaning and interpretations are almost laid bare - making it such a powerful and insightful divination tool.

This deck is the indie version of the Star String Tarot (2nd edition) - there has been a mass market version released recently via US Games and it’s gorgeous! But it is not the same edition as this one (and there is a price difference as a result also).

For me, the illustrations contained in this deck are absolutely amazing; simple, but beautiful and meaningful. Nature features heavily in the art. I love the concept of the deck - sharing the common thread (‘string’) of anatomy, nature and the cosmos - an ecosystem in which we all exist and experience life. So cool, and true!

The cards are one of my favourites to shuffle, and they are edged in black - so stylish. And the backs are gorgeous too.

The deck comes with a little guidebook - meanings and interpretations are key words which are helpful, but I think the card illustrations give you the freedom to intuitively interpret the cards too (which I love).

Such a cool deck - and one that I’m going to be reaching for on a regular basis - I just know it!

Deck description and specifications (from the deck creator, Eliza Kingsbury):

The Star String Tarot (2nd Edition). This is the second self published iteration of 'The Star String Tarot' with new and improved packaging. The deck is exactly the same, but now with a beautiful, sturdy, two part box. A stapled, multi-page pamphlet with larger text is included inside the box. Some bonus content is now included in the pamphlet.

By simply existing, we share the common thread of anatomy, nature, and the cosmos. When we tie these themes to our human experience, we can find new meaning in life. Like the stars that string together in the sky to offer navigation, I hope this deck helps you navigate through your own human experience.

-black and white illustrated deck
-2.75" x 4.75" cards
-350 gsm linen cardstock
-78 cards
-Black gilded edges
-Matte finish two part box
-Stapled pamphlet comes inside the box

The deck is an interpretation of the Rider Waite Smith deck, so it's designed to be accessible and easy to read for beginners.
