The Botan Tarot (2nd Edition)
A big welcome back to this beautiful and memorable deck - the second edition does not disappoint. For those that missed out on the first edition (and I know there were a few!), this edition is worth the long wait - with a few updated cards (LOVE the updates) and the same ethereal look and feel, I think I might have fallen in love with this deck all over again!
I love the new box (my first edition box used to slide open on its own which often ended up with cards everywhere ha ha!), and the guide booklet is still perfect. And the indigo edges are definitely my kind of edging.
The zine is still available as a download from the deck creators website (www.amiyakom.com) if you want to dive deep into the essence of the cards and the story they tell.
I can already hear the ‘oooos’ and ‘ahhhhhhs’ of people new to the Botan tarot - such a stunning piece of art (you get quite attached to the characters depicted in all the cards!) as well as a wonderful deck to read with.
For those who manage to grab a copy of this special deck, ENJOY!
_____
A brief description of the deck and guide booklet by the deck creator Addi Miyako (via the website www.amiyakom.com ):
Second edition of The Botan Tarot, a 78-card tarot deck featuring lush and whimsical watercolor illustrations, inspired by Art Nouveau and Japanese folklore.
Cards are a linen finish with unique Matte Japanese Indigo edges.
The deck comes with a full-color guide booklet of simple interpretations; both the deck and guidebook fit within the box.
What's new?
Artwork for 7 cards and titles for 2 cards have been updated. The box has taken a new evolution as a book-type inspired by ephemeral mists and vintage candy.
Please note: Two of the cards have mild nudity. Please use your best judgement as to the age appropriateness of this deck.
