Teknebrae Tarot V2.0

NZ$115.00

This version of the wonderful Teknebrae tarot is an eye catching stunner! The same card illustrations as the first edition, but this one leaps into the world with a new unique colour palette (check out that bright yellow - so good!), the addition of elemental, planetary, and zodiac associations noted on the cards and a slightly glossier/thicker feel to the cards. This new colour palette really fits this deck SO well.

This deck embraces the aesthetic of a cyberpunk world/environment - it’s a unique offering in the wonderful work of divination decks. I’ve always been drawn to the decks created by James (Pixel Occult). And this deck is fascinating - if you’re into the darker, more mysterious, modern, sharp fashion, underground city life vibe (that we often see in movies like Blade Runner or even, one of my favourites - The Matrix!), you will really love this deck! The card quality is exceptional and like the art captured in the cards, the cards are slick. They are easy to shuffle, and feel great in hand.

The strong symbolism and illustrations evoke clear messages and interpretations (the guidebook is wonderful for that too). I am particularly drawn in by the various characters in the cards - never the ‘same’ character - it really gives the deck so much depth and you can’t help but imagine the story of each person and setting depicted in the cards.

The illustrations are already so cool, but this new palette for V2.0 makes the images come to life even more than the first edition. Both editions feel like a different deck to the other purely because of the colours - different colour, different energy - and I love this! Sometimes when you have the same deck in different colours, there isn’t a distinct difference that gives them their own personality. But each of the Teknebrae decks absolutely bring something unique to the table compared to the other version - I think this shows the potential, flexibility and breadth of purpose that this single deck theme has.

If you take the leap to add this deck to your collection, I’m sure you will be drawn into this world of futuristic cool and find another way to bring another layer of meanings and interpretations into your tarot practice.

Information from the Pixel Occult Etsy listing:

The Teknebrae Tarot V2.0 is a fully-illustrated 78 card Tarot Deck. Cards are printed at the standard Tarot size of 2.75x4.75" on casino quality linen card stock with black core and gloss coating, intended for durability, vibrant image reproduction, and ease of handling/shuffling. Each deck is housed in a rigid two-piece box designed to provide protection and longevity even while you’re on the go, and comes with a 49-page booklet for easy reference.

The Teknebrae Tarot is a Cyberpunk Tarot deck following the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition (Often shortened to RWS). Like Neon Moon Tarot before it, it offers full illustrations in a limited color palette for each of the 78 cards and is set in a gritty futuristic cyberpunk world. Robots, cyborgs, AI, enhanced cybernetics, loose flowing clothing and a diverse cast of characters populate this deck and bring its setting to life. In this booklet included are card titles based on (but not a 1 to 1 match with) their Golden Dawn titles.

Here you will find all cards fully-illustrated with a rich and diverse cast of characters. Despite the dark setting, the contents of the deck read with the variety of light and dark themes and archetypes you'd expect from a Tarot deck. Cards ask you to read energy and themes and aren't tied to following specific gender expressions. The characters within are varied in their bodies, races, ages, sexual orientations, and genders.

Elemental, planetary, and zodiac associations are noted on the cards for ease of reference. In the Major Arcana, these are hand drawn on the characters themselves. For the Minor Arcana and Court Cards, a lower right hand box includes their symbols for quick reference.
