It’s been a while…

Oct 2022

Hi everyone - goodness, it’s been a while since I’ve posted any ‘Now’ articles - life has been swirling and shifting significantly for me personally, and MoonAmaia has had to take a back seat for quite a while as a result.

Firstly, I need to thank everyone who has made purchases or been in touch so far this year - managing orders and readings, shipping, stock etc. this year has been very challenging to manage with everything that’s been happening and you’ve all been so understanding, patient and supportive of me and my little business, I seriously cannot thank you all enough for everything! Some of you have become repeat customers too, and connecting with you; enthusiastically discussing our love of tarot, decks, healing modalities and crystals - has been so wonderful - I appreciate you all more than you know!

As we head into the summer season, things are going to start picking up again - so get ready for more ‘Now’ updates over the next few months as more happens in the MoonAmaia space! More product listings, more events……keep watching this space!

For this ‘Now’ update, I thought I would recap a few things that have happened lately or that might be coming up soon - just to keep you informed of where things are at and to celebrate and gear up for exciting things to come!

Reiki NZ Annual Conference - Rotorua - August 2022

I was very privileged to be invited to set up a trade table for MoonAmaia at this years annual Reiki NZ Conference. In recent years, I’ve attended workshops and sessions to learn about Reiki healing, and it’s been a wonderful enabler for the work I do with tarot and crystals, and helped me to discover my healing tendencies and leanings. It’s also such a beautiful, gentle and simple healing modality with so much flexibility - it’s been so exciting to learn more about it and to incorporate it into my daily practices. And to share it with others!

The two days I spent at the conference were fantastic - not just for MoonAmaia, but also for me. Although I didn’t have the opportunity to attend all of the conference sessions, you tend to absorb so much knowledge and learning and information just by being there. Meeting and interacting with wonderful attendees (who also became MoonAmaia customers!) and having the opportunity to share my treasures with like-minded people, and to support other amazing people who also had trade tables set up there - it was such a great weekend.

Time went by so quickly, and although it was energy boosting, I was so exhausted when I got home after a very busy weekend!

To everyone who made purchases during the conference, or who just popped by to admire the crystals and treasures available, thank you so much! Was wonderful to meet you.

And also, a big thanks to the organisers of the conference who made this opportunity possible for MoonAmaia - thanks for looking after me and my super helper during the conference! We had such a great time - would love to do this again!

Price Reviews

A key driver behind everything that I do with MoonAmaia is the motivation to make treasures and beautiful things more accessible and indeed, affordable for people on this side of the world. This is more challenging than you may think - juggling exchange rates, international purchasing, shipping challenges and costs etc. is a daily concern. In some cases, I’ve sacrificed any sort of profit margin just to bring something to the MoonAmaia shop that I’m passionate about - just to make it available. And for a while, a good portion of shipping costs were also being subsidised/covered by MoonAmaia.

As you will all be aware, money’s too tight to mention these days (Simply Red styles!) and the financial state of things at the moment is making these challenges even more difficult to navigate. So in July/August 2022, I reviewed prices of certain products (particularly decks) and shipping cost calculations on the website.

I will be reviewing prices and shipping costs regularly over the coming months (to decide whether to increase or decrease prices/costs) - I’ll always make sure I’m charging in line with other retailers, and according to supplier/creator rules, but at the same time, I want to make sure that I’m covering my costs whilst ensuring prices and costs are accessible and affordable for customers. Rest assured, the integrity of MoonAmaia is something that is always front of mind, so when a price or cost is reviewed, please know it’s done with much due diligence, research, calculation, consideration and pulling of hair as is needed.

Of note - regarding shipping costs - if you have any questions about shipping costs for an order, feel free to let me know - I can always obtain an actual estimate of shipping costs if you want to confirm that before purchase. I do keep an eye on shipping costs for each order as it comes through too. Keep in mind that shipping sometimes will need to cover other admin/packing material costs associated with shipping too, so it may not just cover the delivery aspect of the shipping cost.

New product listings (woop!)

I’ve started to drip feed new products and items onto the website again - slowly but surely! And I hope to keep this up over the coming weeks to ensure all products that have been waiting for a while to be listed have actually been listed!

So much more to come - keep an eye out on the website for updates!

Its Market time!

The Weekend Markets in Whangamata start up again this Labour Weekend through to April 2023.

Ten market dates in total:

October - Saturday 22 (Labour Weekend)

November - Saturday 19

December - Saturday 17

January - Saturday 14, Saturday 21 & Saturday 28 (Anniversary Weekend)

February - Saturday 4 (Waitangi Weekend) & Saturday 25

March - Saturday March 11th

April - Good Friday - 7th

MoonAmaia will definitely be there for some of these markets - and I’m thinking about whether I can offer readings at some of these markets too (if I can get a super helper to hold the fort for me while I do readings!).

If you’re in Whangamata over the coming months, definitely check out the markets, and let me know if there are particular dates you’d like to see MoonAmaia there. We had such a good time at the markets we attended last season - very very keen to be there again!

If you have any questions at all or need more information about anything in this update or what could be happening in the coming weeks/months, feel free to get in touch.
